Unter dem Motto „Zwischen Barock und Moderne“ lädt die Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Bailliage National d’Allemagne zum 100. Grand Chapitre nach Dresden ein.
Die Landeshauptstadt des Freistaates Sachsen wird zum Treffpunkt für Chaîne-Freunde aus Deutschland und der Welt. Dresden, die Stadt an der Elbe, vereint auf faszinierende Weise Barock und Moderne. Dresden ist eine Stadt, die ihre Vergangenheit ehrt und gleichzeitig mutig in die Zukunft blickt – eine faszinierende Verbindung aus Geschichte und Innovation. Die Geschichte ist in der Stadt allgegenwärtig und an ihrem wohl prominentesten Vertreter August dem Starken führt kein Weg vorbei. Der Kurfürst war bekannt für seine opulenten Feste und Bankette. Die barocke Anlage des Zwingers ist eine der größten Attraktionen in Dresden. Dieses Meisterwerk der Architektur beherbergt Museen, Galerien und einen wunderschönen Garten. Die Dresdner Frauenkirche ist ein Symbol der Versöhnung und des Wiederaufbaus. Nach ihrer Zerstörung im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde sie aus den Ruinen wiederaufgebaut und erstrahlt heute in ihrer barocken Pracht. In der Altstadt reihen sich beeindruckende Bauwerke aneinander – Semperoper, Hofkirche, Albertinum… Und nur etwa 2 Kilometer außerhalb der Innenstadt erheben sich die Elbschlösser über dem Hang und bieten einen atemberaubenden Blick auf große Teile des berühmten Elbtals. Nur ein paar Kilometer elbabwärts liegt mit Meißen und der Albrechtsburg die Wiege Sachsens. Dresden liegt auch an der Sächsischen Weinstraße, eines der kleinsten Weinbaugebiete in Deutschland. Trotz der nördlichen Lage (mehr als 51° Breitengrad) werden hier hervorragende Weine erzeugt.
Dresdens moderne Seite spiegelt sich zum Beispiel in der Exzellenz-Universität TU Dresden, die eines der breitesten Fächerspektren in Deutschland bietet. Die Chipindustrie in Dresden ist ein bedeutender Wirtschaftszweig. Hier werden modernste Halbleiterfabriken betrieben, die hochmoderne Schaltkreise für die Automobilbranche und andere Industriezweige herstellen. Die Gläserne Manufaktur von Volkswagen wurde mit dem Ziel erbaut, innovative Automobilproduktion mit den traditionellen Werten von Manufakturen zu verknüpfen. Sie ist nicht nur ein Ort der Automobilproduktion, sondern auch ein Ort des Erlebens, der Innovation und der Zukunft der Elektromobilität. Und auf dem Flusslauf der Elbe bestaunen die Passagiere sowohl von historischen Schaufelraddampfern als auch von modernsten Salonschiffen aus die einzigartige Silhouette der Stadt.

Dresden, the city on the Elbe, combines baroque and modernity in a fascinating way. Dresden is a city that honours its past and at the same time looks boldly to the future – a fascinating combination of history and innovation. History is omnipresent in the city and there is no way around its most prominent representative, Augustus the Strong. The Elector was known for his opulent parties and banquets. These were celebrated with great pomp and splendour, often accompanied by music, dance and theatre performances. Augustus the Strong was a man of pleasure who enjoyed life to the full and spoilt his guests with culinary highlights. We will continue this tradition at the Grand Chapitre in Dresden. The baroque Zwinger complex is one of the biggest attractions in Dresden. This masterpiece of architecture is home to museums, galleries and a beautiful garden. Dresden’s Frauenkirche is a symbol of reconciliation and reconstruction. After its destruction in the Second World War, it was rebuilt from the ruins and today shines in its baroque splendour. The Old Town is lined with impressive buildings – the Semper Opera House, Court Church, Albertinum… And only about 2 kilometres outside the city centre, the Elbe castles rise above the hillside and offer a breathtaking view of large parts of the famous Elbe valley. Just a few kilometres down the Elbe is Meissen and Albrechtsburg Castle, the cradle of Saxony. Dresden is also located on the Saxon Wine Route, one of the smallest wine-growing regions in Germany. Despite its northerly location (more than 51° latitude), excellent wines are produced here.
Dresden’s modern side is reflected, for example, in the University of Excellence TU Dresden, which offers one of the broadest ranges of subjects in Germany. The chip industry in Dresden is an important economic sector.
